Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge 63

Welcome back everyone!  I hope you had a wonderful Labor Day weekend if you live in the United States and a wonderful weekend even if you don’t live in the US!

Today I am posting my card I made for the Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge.  This weeks theme is below:

And this is what I came up with!

So I decided to do some butterflies as well.  I stamped some butterflies on some white cardstock using some Versamark ink.  Then I poured on some rose gold embossing powder and heat set that.  I then took a die from Memory box and cut out the butterfly outlines, I then took another Memory Box die and cut out the wings in vellum (which is hard to see in the photo).  I stamped the outlines with some Versamark and then coated it with black embossing powder and heat seat that.  That was a challenge for sure. I had to do it a few times because I kept melting the vellum!  Whoops!

I then took a sentiment stamp from the one of the Stamp of Approval kits by Catherine Pooler and stamped that on some vellum as well with the rose gold embossing powder. That is propped up with a black strip of cardstock with foam tape behind it. Then added a few rose gold sequins to the card as well.

Clean Desk Syndrome

Hello everyone!  I want to make an effort to write on this blog at other times besides displaying cards I have entered into sketches.

Recently, I have not had the time to make cards.  And when I do get in the craft room, it seems I have to spend time cleaning up and placing things in their right spots.

You see, I am one of those card makers that makes 1 or 2 cards at a time.  Then when I am done, I MUST put everything away and start out with a new desk.  To some this is tedious and they don’t bother.  But in order for me to concentrate, I need to be able to see everything on my desk.  Once something is covered up by a piece of paper or by the huge gigantic foam tape roll, I forget about it and eventually forget to place it on my card!

I have my craft room in order, but it is not working for me.  I think I may need to re-arrange some locations on the shelving so things make more sense.

Maybe I am overthinking all of this and I am crazy.  I am sure I am not the only one, right?

Until next time,

Ricky
