Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge 76

Hi everyone!  I hope everyone that was in the US had a great Thanksgiving and if you aren’t on the US, then I hope you had a great week!

This week we have an embossing challenge.  This is actually my first time embossing with an embossing mat. I remembered when I first started card making I bought one, but never really knew how to use it.  Then it got lost in my craft room.  Then this week as I was doing some clean up, I found it!

Here is this weeks challenge:

And here is my card:

The tree and the snowflake border are form Memory Box.  The tree is actually embossing with texture, but it is hard to make out in the photo.

The background is a blend of four distressed inks: Tumbled Glass, Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot.  I then splashed some water on the background & let it sit for about 20 seconds.  While you can’t see it in this photo, I also spritzed with with Perfect Pearls that was mixed with water.

The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn.  I stamped the sentiment with Blueberry ink from My Favorite Things and then clear heat embossed the sentiment.

I assembled the card and placed it on a Neenah Solar White 110lb card base.  The tree is on foam tape.  I made seven of these cards and had to cut little pieces of foam tape for each tree.  I need a taller craft table I believe!

The last touch was adding the clear sequins which is a mix from Pretty Pink Posh.

I hope you have enjoyed this weeks card and I look forward to seeing yours!

Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #75

Hello everyone!  Thanks for stopping by this week to view this weeks card for the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge.  It is the beginning of the holiday season here in the states.  Thursday is our Thanksgiving holiday and the day after that all hell breaks loose at every single store in the United States!  God bless us !

Anyway, here is this weeks challenge.

And here is my card:

This week I kept the card kind of simple.  I took some brusho and made a “pool” color background with it.  Then I took two different Memory Box dies and cut out the ornaments with some mirrored copper paper.  I got this at my local store and I love it. I adhered those to he background paper and then fussy cut them out.

I then took an 80lb piece of Neenah Solar White paper cut at 4 inches by 5.25 inches and used the Darice snowflake embossing folder to emboss it.  I then cut thin strips of the same copper paper and applied it to a card base.

The sentiment is also from Memory Box as well.

I hope you have a great week and thank you for stopping by and playing along with us!

Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge #74

Hi everyone!  Thanks for stopping by to view this week’s card challenge over at Stamp, Ink, Paper.

Here is this weeks challenge:

And here is my entry for this weeks challenge!

dsc_0223-1

I took a piece of 110lb water color card stock and used some blue Brusho colors to make the background piece.  After that I trimmed down that card stock to be a little less than 4.25 by 5.5.  Then I used some silver reflective paper and die cut one of the large snowflake dies from Simon Says Stamp.  I then heat embossed in silver the pattern of dots across the front of the vellum piece.  The vellum piece is cute at 4.25 by 5.5. I mounted the water color stock with 3D foam tape onto a top folding card cut at 11 inches by 4.25 inches folded in half. I then glued the snowflake to the vellum.  Then glued the vellum to the watercolor stock by adding glue behind the snowflake and the dots across the card.

I hope you enjoyed this weeks card and look forward to seeing your creations!

Have a great week!

Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge #73

Hi everyone!  Thanks for coming back for this weeks challenge over at Stamp, Ink, Paper!

This weeks challenge was Grateful/Thankful

Here is this weeks challenge post:

I decided to go with Lawn Fawn’s “Thanks a Bushel” stamp set for this card.  I mean how cute is this stamp set, right?

dsc_0283

I started with the card base of Neenah Solar White 80lb card stock.  I blended some Distress Ink for the sky.  I then used the Tree Landscape die set to cut the frame along with the tree. Then used some yellow, green, and orange card stock for the leaves.

I colored in the apples using some copic markers.  I used the My Favorite Things slider die to make the apple trail to the basket.  The basket of apples are on 3D foam tape.  I then added 3D foam tape on the back of the card front and adhered it to some Neenah Solar White 110lb card stock that has been folded at 4.25 inches.  Then I used the Lawn Fawn tag die set to cut the brown die, and used the Lawn Fawn rectangle die for the plaid background.  I glued the plaid down to the card base & then put the tag on 3D foam.  I tied some twine to the tag for decoration.

I hope you enjoyed this weeks card!  Thanks for stopping along the way! Have a great week!

Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge 72

Hi everyone! Thanks for hopping over and taking a look at my card!

The Stamp, Ink, Paper team has asked me to stay a little longer as a design team member.  How exciting! Hopefully you enjoy playing along with us.

Here is this weeks challenge:

And here is my version:

sip-72

I used the MFT Beastie Stamp set using Neena Solar White 80# paper and colored the Yeti in with Copic Markers.  I also used the Wonky Square Die to cut out the piece for the sentiment.  The chevron pattern paper is from Bo Bonny. I adhered the sentiment square on with 3D foam and then added some to the back of the Yeti as well.  The sequins are from my stash.  It is hard to see in this photo, but there is actually some aqua shine bouncing off the purple sequins.

I hope you enjoyed this card and can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Have a great week!

My Favorite Things Store Visit

Hello everyone!

I hope you enjoyed my cards that I created and shared over at Stamp, Ink, Paper.  It was a good time being a guest designer there and I hope they invite me back soon!

While I was guest designing I also was on vacation.  I started making cards a little over a year ago and have gotten to know lots of people in the paper crafting community.  Unbeknownst to me, the My Favorite Things store is located 1.5 hours away from where I lived in Florida.

So of course while I was there I HAD to visit the store. My friend Gigi and I got in the car and drove there.  I have to say the store is very impressive.  Big, full of amazing items, but just as important full of amazing workers! I WANTED ALL THE STUFF!

I was so excited to be there I had to take a picture with the crew that was there!

I enjoyed my time there and was super jealous of their crafting area! Maybe one day I will work my way to being on the creative team over at My Favorite Things!

Check out this amazing store front they had as well!

Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge #71

Hi everyone!  By the time you read this post, I will have left California, went back to Chicago, flying to Florida and then back to Chicago!  I was super busy this month traveling but through the magic lens of the internet, I was able to work on these cards early and get them done before my travels!

This weeks challenge is:

14570449_10153896637393531_6957139824193945302_n

And here is my card!

dsc_0205-1

This card may be a little off from the challenge, but these were the closest colors I had for it! Yikes! I am pretty sure it is close enough!  The lighting doesn’t really help it I believe. As a crafter we never have everything we need when we need it huh?  Anyway, I used the Lawn Fawn Bow dies to make three different sizes of bows.  Then I used a Simon Says Stamp “Thanks” die and stacked that three times on top of one another.  I then used the Lawn Fawn stitched oval die.  The rust colored one is glued to the card base which is a ivory color.  The mustard is attached using 3D foam tap.  The bows are attached using glue dots!

I hope you have enjoyed this weeks card! I have enjoyed playing along with the challenges this month and have enjoyed being a part of the design team.  I hope I am asked to join along again sometime soon!

Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge #70

Hello everyone!  I am still in California writing this blog.  We just have gone through a really bad rain storm here.  It rained a lot. There is also a chance that snow might keep me from getting home to Chicago.  SNOW!  Can you believe it?

This weeks challenge is Tic Tac Toe:

14612576_10153896557543531_1812279027591772374_o

I decided to go with Leaves, Sparkle and Orange:

dsc_0197-1

I used the Lawn Fawn leaves die to cut out all the leaves in craft paper, gold glitter paper, and orange paper.  I used the Lawn Fawn “wordy stamps” and dies to make the hello.

The gold leaves are attached with 3D foam. The others are glued on with runner tape.  The card is simple and thought it was missing something.  My friend Melinda pointed out that the “hello”s are actually falling like leaves.  After she said that, I knew the card was complete.

I hope you enjoy this week’s card and I look forward to next! Have a great week!
