Mojo Monday 462

Hello everyone!  I am here to share my Mojo Monday sketch challenge.

The sketch challenge was based off of this model:

And here is my design.  I would love to tell you everything I used, but I used so much from my stash I can’t remember everything! I hope you enjoy and this is my start for making Christmas Cards (the thought makes me nervous).

Mojo Monday 461

Hi everyone!  Thank you for stopping by to take a look at this week’s card for the Mojo Monday sketch challenge:

Here is this weeks sketch:

Here is my week’s version of the card. I couldn’t decide which one I like the most so I posted all three of them.

Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge 61 Tic-Tac-Toe

Hello everyone! Thank you for joining me this week for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge.

This week’s challenge was called Tic-Tac-Toe. Here are the options:

I decided to go vertical on the left and chose flowers, blue, and emboss.  Now I was not for sure if emboss meant using embossing folders, or heat embossing.  I went with heat embossing.  I hope that is okay.  Here is my take:

I used the stamp set from The Ton Stamps.  I inked that up on some double sided Stick It paper.  Cut out the dress portion and stuck the dress on top of another stamped image on Neenah Solar White 80# card stock.  Then I removed the other side of the adhesive and poured blue glitter and firmly placed it.

I then used some skin tones copic markers to color in the bride.  Then some browns for the hair. For the background I used The Ton Stamps Floral Border Stamp and heat embossed that in with silver embossing powder.  The embellishments on the dress are some “day after christmas” shopping items and the bow is from silver paper from My Favorite Things using the Dainty Bow die from Mama Elephant.

The sentiment is also from the Haute Dress stamp set.  I used a strip of the background paper I used on the card and stamped the sentiment on some vellum card stock.  I used clear embossing powder to make the sentiment to stand out a bit more.

I propped it up with some fun foam on the back and attached it to a Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock.

I hope you enjoy this week’s card!

Stamp Ink Paper Challenge 60

Hello everyone!  Wow it was a warm one here in Chicago this weekend. I attended a wedding this weekend.  I was the best man.  My friend and I have been really close for 10+ years and it was amazing to see him get married.  We have been there for one another thick and thin.  Now my summer will have calmed down for a bit so I can get some crafty good times into my schedule!

This weeks card was for the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #60.  Basically I place these three colors into my card:

And this is what I came up with.  To be honest, I had some scrap paper around that I needed to get ride of.  I made two cards and really can’t decided which one to use.  I will post both here and see what comes of it!

Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge 59

This weeks Stamp, Ink Paper Challenge is Funny or Punny.

I decided to use a stamp set from one of my new favorite companies Sweet Stamp Shop .

Here is my card:

The cards base is Neenah Solar White 110lb card stock.  The white frame is from Lawn Fawn stitched frame dies and I used Neenah Solar White 80lb card stock with that.  That is mounted with 3M foam tape.

The sand and ocean wave are also 80lb Neenah and I used Clarity Brushes to blend some Distressed Inks onto the card stock.  I used the hillside dies for those.  For the vellum wave I used Mama Elephants wave die to cut it out. The sky is also Distressed inks as well.  The clouds were die cut using the Lawn Fawn cloud die set.

The stamps are all colored using Copic Markers.  I used some Glossy Accents for the sunglasses.

Hope you enjoy his weeks card and see you soon!

My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch 291

Hi everyone!  I believe this might be my first offical My Favorite Things sketch challenge.  I am still all new to this and trying various different sketches to see how all this works out!

Here is the sketch from My Favorite Things:

And here is my take.  I used the My Favorite Things Celebrate with Cake stamps set along with the My Favorite Things Pretty Pink Posh sequins mix in this shaker card.  I hope you enjoy!

Stamp Ink Paper Sketch Challenge #58

Hello everyone!  Welcome back to my blog.  I have taken a break from crafting because I have been busy this summer. Going on vacations, having friends visit and just doing some home repairs takes a lot out of my crafting time.  The highlight was seeing Adele on concert for the first time ever.  There are no words to say how amazing she was and is!

Thankfully I was able to sit down this week and make a few cards.

Here is the sketch from Stamp Ink Paper:

And here is my take on the sketch.  I decided to go horizontal instead of vertical with this one.  I hope you enjoy and please let me know your thoughts!

Mojo Monday Sketch 458

Hello everyone! Glad to see you back here. It has been a really busy summer so far.  I went on vacation to California for a week and then came back.  A week later my good friend from Florida came to visit me.  July has been really busy, but I think it is going to start settling down now.

Since I had the time I decided to pay along with the Mojo Monday Sketch this week.  Here is the sketch idea:

And here is my take of the sketch.  The only thing different is that I rotated the sketch one turn to the left instead.

I used the some masculine paper I had in my stash and the sentiment is from the Stamp of Approval boxset from Catherine Pooler.

I used some craft paper and Memento Cocoa ink for the sentiment.

I’m A Sucker For You

It has been a while since I last posted.  The summer is always busy for me.  Since living in Chicago, I have had to learn to enjoy the three months of summer before the nine months of misery that we endure that we call winter.

I received the My Monthly Hero kit this last week.  I played around with the kit and came up with this card.  I love the nautical theme of the kit.  I like how the black and white striped paper contrasts with the blue splatter water coloring on the card base.  I stamped the octopus using some Altenew inks.  They make it easy because the colors are already together for a layered stamp.  Takes out all the guess work.

Enjoy this card!
